Welcome back to the Matchside weekly roundup!

I’m sure you’re all enjoying the group stage of the World Cup and navigating the unhelpful kick off times. I managed an 8-hour stint the other day from 8pm to 4am β€” living the dream.

If you can pull yourself away from the TV for a few hours, there’s still a bunch of amazing sport you can watch IRL, and we’ve also got College Football coming to London in September. Keep reading for the details 😎

πŸ‘€ What’s on this week πŸ‘€

Some of the events I covered in last week’s email are continuing into this week, so I’ll do a quick update on ticket availability before jumping into the new events below.

πŸ‘ FIH Pro League Hockey at Lee Valley Hockey Centre, 13th-28th June. England are playing Argentina and Australia on Saturday, and Australia again on Sunday, then Spain and Pakistan later in the week. Tickets here.

πŸ‡ Royal Ascot, 16th–20th June. Tickets still available for Thursday 18th and Friday 19th, from Β£42.

🏏 Test Cricket, England vs New Zealand at the Oval, 17th-21st June. Small number of (mostly resale) tickets available for days 1-4, and day 5 has gone on sale for £25.

πŸ‰ Gallagher PREM Final at Twickenham, Saturday 20th June, 3pm. We now know the finalists will be Northampton Saints vs Exeter Chiefs. The match is pretty much sold out, with the occasional resale ticket popping up.

🎾 Nottingham Open, 13th–21st June. Still has tickets available across all days, from Β£12.

And for the new events happening over the next week:

1. 🏏 Women’s T20 World Cup: England vs West Indies (Wed 24th June, 6.30pm)

πŸ“ Lord’s | Tickets from Β£30

2. 🎾 Eastbourne Open (20th-27th June)

πŸ“ Devonshire Park Tennis Club | Tickets from Β£12

Another pre-Wimbledon grass court tournament well worth making the trip for. Eastbourne is only 1h30 on a direct train from London and you can’t go wrong with a Β£12 ticket!

I’m sure a few of you are starting to think about Wimbledon which starts on Monday 29th June and runs for two weeks. You may have missed the ballot but you can still get tickets through The Queue and online resale. I’ve written a post on how to get tickets, have a read if you want to get in this year.

Royal Ascot

🏈 American Football, Union Jack Classic (Saturday 19th September, 5pm)

πŸ“ Wembley Stadium | Tickets from Β£60

The first-ever NCAA college football game at Wembley, as the Kansas Jayhawks take on the Arizona State Sun Devils. Tailgates, marching bands, cheerleaders and a Big 12 conference matchup on one of the world's biggest stages. Tickets are on sale and this one is sure to sell out.
